Founded by master luthier Bill Collings, the Waterloo guitar line is a look back in time to when there was a genuine need for soulful tone that could be coaxed from simple instruments. It’s an early one, s/n 202 and has the Gibson style tailpiece rather than the Collings tailpiece. According to Alex at Collings it was shipped 8/21/2002. What I’m wondering is were the serial numbers for the MT-2’s assigned in the same sequence with the original MT-1’s or did they start over with number 1 for the MT-2s? Serial numbers are printed on the Collings label inside the instrument which can be seen through the sound hole. How do I determine the age of a particular ukulele? Collings ukuleles have a hand-written serial number on the label inside the body. The table below lists serial number ranges issued into production by year.
